I seem to have lost some people on account of not being a fan of 'traditional gender roles' and having a introverted & individualistic perspective on how they can actually play out.

Perfectly reasonable, though I can think you can make a case that traditional gender roles are adaptive, and ought to be promoted to the extent that they are. They were far more adaptive in the past than now (when labour was back-breaking and more dangerous, birthrates higher).

There's no need to promote them. Just need to promote the acceptability of living according to them and not living according to them.

Right - by "promote" I basically just mean "Here's why you might want to live this way", rather than "This is your pre-ordained way of living".
