I seem to have lost some people on account of not being a fan of 'traditional gender roles' and having a introverted & individualistic perspective on how they can actually play out.

Sometimes, people think that because I am critical of feminism & I accept that gender differences exist on average, that I will be in favour of socially conservative gender roles. I have to remind them that I am a liberal in the fully individualistic sense

This should be OK with any reasonable person because it means that I support the right of people who do want to live in traditional gender roles to do so and I wish them joy of their picket fences.

Fine by me Helen. I'd never tell a woman not to be a fighter pilot if she wanted to, in the same way I'd never tell her not to be a full-time mother if she wanted to either. My beef with modern feminism is the way they portray the latter as some kind of 2nd best cop-out.

I agree. We all must take our places in society. Traditional or otherwise. There is lots of space.

I've been wavering about. Twitter drives me crazy, I keep coming in halfway on conversations which I should read the thread for FIRST, (sorry @pangopup), and I keep shouting at the computer. I've been writing. I'll send you the anthology of shorts if you like, it's nearly ready.

Weird. We don't agree on everything but I've values your openness and willingness to talk through differing viewpoints with myself and others. You're ~exactly~ who people with differing opinions looking for dialogue should follow.

welp. that's what happens when you have independent thoughts and don't adscribe to dogmas from either side. If people get confused when they can't place you in one box or another.
