Yes! I started writing a thing about the burden experienced by kids who know they are their mother's full-time job and raison d'etre. You can't just go home and go to your room and do your own thing when she's not seen anyone all day and been home waiting for you. https://twitter.com/SeidorfJ/status/938003128405954562 …
Then they're not seeing their kids as a full-time job and their raison d'etre which is what I was criticising. They have other things in their lives and let their kids have other things in their lives.

There are acceptable forms. They;'re allowed to enjoy cooking and needlework and going to church social events & things. Its having jobs & intellectual interests/professional pursuits that are forbidden. The bloke I was talking to was objecting to women being politically active.

We can survive being told either. Most people fall in the middle. Women shouldn't expect to be able to stay home but if their partner is happy to be sole breadwinner & they can still have own interests and own identity, this is not a problem.
