Ugh! That is so annoying but it's probably water and will disappear suddenly. You can't have gained real weight if you ate fewer calories than you burned. Keep going and you'll wake up 5lbs lighter one morning.

Iron law of biology. Consume less calories than you expend and you lose weight. Surprising fact: when you lose body fat it's mostly exhaled as CO2.

Best of luck! On current diet I also lost a lot quickly (3k in 2 weeks). Rate has slowed but still going down (last time checked)

Anything more than 2lbs of loss per week is going to be all lean mass anyway, so you're actually right where you should be.

I managed to replace all my lunches this week with modest salads. I was pretty happy with that. ...then somebody made chocolate chip cookies.
