Some of the critiques I have filed. But many more can be found. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3864590/ … https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/beautiful-minds/201101/does-the-implicit-association-test-iat-really-measure-racial-prejudice …

weird thought, but maybe all people associated paleness with goodness. Why else would monocultures like Japan be into skin lightening?
-
But white cultures are into skin darkening. Fake tanning is an incredibly lucrative industry.
-
This is true. Having a tan is a sign of wealth now because it means you can afford to go outside, rather than being chained to a cubicle
-
Just as light skin can mean you needn’t go out and work the fields in th sun? Could be same reason. Problem is the studies can’t be replicated & we don’t know motivations.
-
Yeah, I'm just wondering if the findings don't mean what they think it means. Maybe humans subconsciously associate being pale w babies?
-
Could be...maybe the association even differs per country.

-
I think the test also missed the important fact that all people see beauty and wealth as "good" as opposed to people in rougher clothes
