Not denying systematic. Prison sentences are another good example. Not sure it amounts to oppression but you could make that argument.

Really? Why not? What does abuse mean if it does not mean use improperly. It can hardly be improper if it is universally approved of.

Of course it can. Unless you're a cultural relativist. If a majority believe that homosexuality should be a punishable crime, this doesn't suddenly become morally acceptable to anyone with liberal principles.

Slavery was universally acceptable until very recently.So was capital punishment & beating children with sticks. The removal of a foreskin is a much lesser abuse but the justification 'everyone does it' doesn;t work ethically.
