Ugh. Someone on Facebook arguing that the recent Quillette piece I contributed to overlooks women who are too feeble to cope with life (OK, it didn't use those words) and by not mentioning that as a valid option asserts our way to be the only way.

I understand and have sympathy for people struggling to cope with difficult situations in life, people who are timid and fearful of conflict & who have great difficulty asserting themselves. Can we pls not make this group synonymous with women?

OK, I shouldn't have said 'too feeble to cope with life' because people with mental illness, including me in the past, simply can't function through no fault of their own. But being female is not a mental illness!

Four women should be able to write an opinion piece advocating female empowerment, resilience & rejection of victimhood without being accused of being traitors to our sex. I despair of the current feminist attitude towards women, I really do.

And saying that someone making an argument is necessarily insisting their view is the only one is just stupid, btw. Make a counterargument, ffs.

The take away I get from that is that there's no-one as misogynist as a victim-culture-embracing feminist.
