My concerns abt victimhood-as-status ideas are two-fold. 1) It leads believers to claim to be victimised by everything thereby making women appear unable to cope with mundane annoyance or even well-intended awkwardness.

2) It encourages women who have been victims of sexual violence to sink utterly under it rather than to strive to recover from it with appropriate support.

The last one is the one which gets misunderstood most. People read it as telling women to just get over it dismissively rather than encouraging them to do so supportively.

I think it's something to do with the idea that humans are blank slates, therefore violence against women is gendered and root cause is patriarchy, therefore women are oppressed, therefore denying oppression is denying gravity of violence. With I disagree with btw.

Yes but it's precisely that we're not blank slates ie that due to reproductive role women are regarded as treasured objects, precious property, highly valued but passive, that there is a strong tendency to view them as helpless victims. Irony. Feminism seems to reinforce this.

You see people as individuals first and as part of a group second. They see people as part of a group first and as individuals second.

Liberal translation issue? Maybe yours words don't translate well to Leftspeak. That happens a lot between languages. For example, Spanish for "I'm hungry" is actually said as "I have hunger." So don't worry too much. Most know what you meant.

The misinterpretation of your perfectly clear sentence is a consequence of Postmodernism, perhaps. All interpretations are equally possible thus valid. Or, stated from the other direction, Nothing means anything. Welcome to the 21st Century.

Because people want to find hidden meaning in everything. They can’t buy the fact that someone might actually be saying what they mean to be saying.

The idea of adult females having agency is problematic to feminists as it takes away the power of victimhood politics. Akin to antisemites scapegoating Jews.
