I'm more optimistic that gender identity & why it doesn't always correlate with reproductive systems will be much better understood in the near future but, ethically, this.https://twitter.com/jessesingal/status/933396261369237510 …

I don’t understand. A woman isn’t an idea. There are as many ways of being a woman as there are people w two X chromosomes. To define woman by anything other than those chromosomes is to reduce being female to a stereotype.

And yet, people don't always feel the same gender as their chromosomes and so it seems that chromosomes don't dictate how we feel either sexually or in relation to gender. Latter seems related to white & grey brain cell distribution, genes that act on sex hormones & heredity.

I am not making myself clear. There IS no gender but chromosomes. I am just a person with female sexual characteristics. How I choose to live with that is up to me. But notions of feeling-based gender put me in a box.

Brains & hormones also exist. You don't have to believe in gender or identify with one. Other people can tho.

I do believe in gender. As defined by chromosomes and the sexual characteristics that usually flow from them. But these do not determine feelings or personality or identity. There are an infinity of ways of being within one’s gender.

I thought that was sex? I am talking about gender identity. You can believe whatever you want about it but just let other people do the same? The right answers will emerge & soon.
