The first time freaked me out a bit because suddenly he was right next to me in a public but empty street. 'Look at this. Do you want to help me?' No, you're alright. I walked away and he did not pursue. Second time he was behind a window of his own house so not scary.

Me too. My friend, who grew up in India, is astonished that I wasn't terrified. Considers it a kind of privilege to be able to assume that men aren't going to hurt you. I suppose it is. That's deeply sad.
