I don't think it would be shame-based censorship exactly. If courses were measured for the amount of science they had in them, profs who valued science would not be ashamed to have it revealed there was a lot. But I think it would lead to polarisation and further entrenchment of tribalism. We're against you and you are against us. You either make the list in which case you're the problem or you don't. In reality there are gradations.

Actually, I was thinking about your article on women being silenced by intersectional social justice when I chose to describe it as "shame based censorship". Perhaps that's not completely apt, but It feels like a similar impulse is involved here. It's definitely Tribalism.

I do see what you mean. But 'You think this way' is different to 'You are a terrible person for thinking this way and should be punished' but we both know it would lead to that.
