I don't think it would be shame-based censorship exactly. If courses were measured for the amount of science they had in them, profs who valued science would not be ashamed to have it revealed there was a lot. Actually, I was thinking about your article on women being silenced by intersectional social justice when I chose to describe it as "shame based censorship". Perhaps that's not completely apt, but It feels like a similar impulse is involved here. It's definitely Tribalism.

I do see what you mean. But 'You think this way' is different to 'You are a terrible person for thinking this way and should be punished' but we both know it would lead to that.
