Maybe I do not interpret your position correctly, but it looks like you are a realist about truth: the world exists objectively and our claims are about that world. This assumes our metaphysics are real, but are they? Is string theory real??

All knowledge is provisional and we cannot be sure of knowing anything absolutely.
-
Then how can you know what truth is? Best case is you approach it. Popper struggled with that notion. Is it in principle possible truth is approached from 2 different angles? Impossible to decide which is closer?
-
Work on the hypothesis that reality exists. Consider that there might be better and worse ways of getting at it. Compare results. So far, science and similarly empirical and rational approaches are winning
-
I don't think we disagree on the point that reality exists. Currently I am not convinced by the reality of metaphysics, except for explanatory power (and even that is limited). Who is winning is less important than who is right.
-
That is what I mean by winning. Winning at getting things right.
-
Being right is ambiguous. Making correct predictions in our reality is not a guarantee for being closer to the truth.
-
But it's what we can do. And what we have to do. Work within what we have got. Please see this three-tweet thread.https://twitter.com/HPluckrose/status/929749797828997120 …
