"I think there must be a way" indicates that you're starting with the conclusion you want to reach, and are then going to rationalize your way into it, doesn't it?

-
No, not necessarily. I don't know what conclusions will be reached by gender studies becoming rigorous tho evolutionary psychology gives us some idea. I just think its something that can be studied rigorously.
-
Ok. I hope you succeed.
-
Oh! Sorry. You are replying to my tweet about metanarratives and religion not my thing about gender studies! Scrap last answer.
-
For this, yes! I am positing a way to do this but am open to suggestions and counterarguments and also trial and error.

According to some guy on twitter, most (not all) people need religion. Rationalistic alternatives are ultimately unsatisfying.
-
We need to surround rationalistic ideas in inspirational narrative and meaning. We can do this.

You can lead a horse to water...
-
This is it exactly. I will be drawing on Haidt here when he says 'Speak to the elephants (intuitions/emotions), not the rider (cognitive reasoning.) Make the horse (or elephant) want to drink before leading it to water (reason, evidence)
-
Good luck, and I mean that sincerely. Looking forward to the results.
