If they hate it & feel bad about it and soul is 'sense of self.' But selling your mind to do something uninspiring can be 'soul-destroying'

It was not their dream job but it was a reasonable choice based on options available to young women with little kids & no qualifications.

Let me get this straight. You're (partially?) saying that it's a rational choice if the pay is substantially better?
-
Yes, exactly. The options - work 8 hours in a supermarket whilst putting kids in nursery or give two blow jobs a night whilst friend watches kids & then do same for hers. They chose latter because can earn money needed without losing whole day to tedium. Also no boss.
-
So you consider it a rational choice when ppl choose crime since it, for many, is a vastly better source of income?!
-
I don't think it should be a crime, obviously, and its not if you can get regulars. Weigh the two jobs & their demands dispassionately. Spend 8 hours a day stocking shelves, sweeping floors, working tills or earn the same in an hour offering sexual services?
-
Please dont misunderstand. I wasn't referring to prostitution as a crime! I mean do you consider it rational to choose a career (any) for the economic gains alone. You know : 'crime pays'
-
Absolutely! Few of us get to do jobs we actually enjoy and are left with picking between the ones we hate least that will earn most money in least time. Men are actually more likely to prioritise raw income over job satisfaction.
-
Interesting. And with regards to men choosing money, I wholeheartedly agree :)
