But that's what conservatism and liberalism are - thinking certain stances are better for society as a whole. Personally, my lifestyle & values for myself are very compatible with conservative views but I think society works better on a liberal scale so I am a liberal.

Can you point to where he advocates for these socially conservative values? I think I missed that lecture.

Oh good grief. Just follow his twitter account on marriage and family. I don't have time to go through his lectures so if you want to disbelieve that he speaks of gender archetypes & abortion & casual sex negatively & marriage & family as morally superior, you'll just have to.

I do. And I pointed you to evidence against your claims earlier. People are far to quick to judge the man. Thanks for the convo.

Is your need to be "right" that strong? We have a different opinion, and I accept that. I can see how you came to your opinion, and I know how I came to mine. Isn't that the "diversity of opinion" people are always looking for?

That I'd ask someone else if they have at hand info I don't have time to look for? Well, yes. There's a right or wrong answer here. Either JPB does espouse socially conservative values or he doesn't.

If we can just have a different opinion on what other people say, I could easily just have the opinion that you now agree with me. That doesn't work, does it?

You think he's a social conservative, when his own words say he's a classical liberal. No one can force you to change your thoughts, especially if you refuse to look at the evidence I already provided. I'll take the man at his word, you can infer anything you like.

In the end, this is just minor nitpicking over terminology, since we agree on many other points. Ultimately the boxes we use to organize people in our minds are only useful to ourselves.

Well, go with what he says then. I do. You can call it conservative, classical liberal or potato if you like.
