Hmm. What do we think of this? I'm inclined to think identifying postmodern content in university courses is not an unethical thing to do. Could be very useful.http://www.cbc.ca/radio/asithappens/as-it-happens-friday-edition-1.4396970/u-of-t-profs-alarmed-by-jordan-peterson-s-plan-to-target-classes-he-calls-indoctrination-cults-1.4396974 …

I don't think it constitutes harassment to identify course content. And it could be used by students & parents who wanted pomo based studies as well as those who wanted to avoid them.

I don't get it. He's compiling a list of classes he thinks are stupid? So what? No one has to listen to him, do they? Let him do whatever he likes.

Yes, and they are entitled to as long as no one's forcing them. Surely? You can't make people be sensible.

Yes, of course. We're just talking about whether it is advisable or not.

Clearly he feels it's inadvisable to *not* have that list available. Personally, I didn't take advice from anyone on what university course to take, but I don't see the harm.

He did, yes, and so did I at first. But I was convinced it would probably add to polarisation and do more harm than good and so is he now.

I mean in people who don't want to who will rage at the PoMos who will rage back and it will all escalate even more.

Wouldn’t the simple fact that you’d be awarded a BA Honours in such courses mean it isn’t exactly indisputable, objective science? Why the need for red flags? BSc Honours degrees aren’t postmodern (I don’t think?)

It would be measuring for postmodernism specifically, not for everything that isn't objective science.

Ok maybe I’m misunderstanding exactly what counts as postmodernist. Maybe some unis aren’t as scientific in their BA courses.

There's not much science in BAs. no. But it doesn't have to be postmodernism.

More efficient to shut down humanities faculty for a few years & retool. Purge the marxists altogether. After all, it’s what Lenin would do.

The Marxists are dead in the water. The PoMos have largely seen them off. They won that war some time ago.

Peterson is much better when it comes to identifying problems with post-modernism. Less so with matters regarding sex and marriage. Strange character - brilliant on certain issues, awful on others.

*Haven’t read article, but just a thought* Sometimes Jordan Peterson sounds as much like a POMO apologist as those he criticizes. At least in his obscurantist way of writing and speaking. Even his arguments about “truth” seem a little PoMo to me.

And anyone who thinks Carl Jung was brilliant goes down a notch in my book. I can tell he’s a Jung guy. He had the same obscurantist way of writing and speaking as well.
