Yes. I would. One woman said she did self-censor her Christian beliefs. That shouldn't happen either.https://twitter.com/DonaldMcBee/status/928311929294196736 …

Hmmm... Not entirely sure about that. I won't be treated by any physician wearing religious symbols because I want expertise from an evidence-based thinker. Why is that wrong?

You can discriminate by religion in your choice of physician if you choose. They shouldn't have to fear it will jeopardise their careers tho.

Might if enough people followed suit. Then what? A hospital dress policy forbidding expression/forcing self-censorship, maybe. My point: free expression still has consequences, and sometimes self-censorship is little more (and nothing less) than common sense.

That said: I much prefer full disclosure, even if just via jewelry, say. I'd rather know who I'm dealing with. Especially at the doctor's.

I don't need to know what my doctor believes about God. I just need to know that she has good training & reputation as a physician. My official GP is Hindu but the one I always try to see is Muslim because she is the best.

But would you see these people if they were also openly flat-earthers or made serious references astrology during consultations? I see those beliefs as equal to religious ones given all we now in arguably know about all of them being human constructs.

No, that's the point. I might argue with them hugely if we met somewhere for discussing religion. In the doctor's surgery, we discuss my health.

I want a world where we can disagree with someone, even very strongly, on one thing but value their opinion on something else & respect them generally.

Again, agree strongly. But also contextually. And where science is concerned, magical thinkers in these smarter times won't do for me.

They'd get struck off fairly quickly if they prescribed prayer where antibiotics were needed.
