I would assume people here would have a passing familiarity with the book "The Bell Curve", which is, to put it bluntly, late 20th century "scientific" racism.

It has a chapter on measured differences but stresses that variation is greater within group & the cause is not established, doesn't it?

It does, I'm mostly referring to the misuse of the data, because it doesn't explain why such differences take place.
