If I hear someone called a racist, I immediately wonder if they criticised Islam or wore the wrong hairstyle or said the backlash against Brett Weinstein was unfair rather than assume this means they are bigoted on the grounds of race.

At my old university, "racist" is just a term for anyone against a progressive position.

I think this is in online political circles only though. In my office there’s none of this garbage. Ordinary people don’t buy into all that crap.
