We don't tend to think of repeated exposure to infections in terms of 'dangerous' work in the same way we think of exposure to violence.

Hang on. There are ~ as many US truckers (3.5 mil) as nurses (3.1 mil). Truckers death rate is ~ 253 / million. Nurses ~ 57 / million.

"Narrow the gap" isn't quite accurate. While trucking isn't the most dangerous (US) job, it is the most dangerous job with a lot of workers
