That is OK & actually probably necessary once you get past a certain number of followers & want to be sure of seeing the worthwhile tweets
And yes, it's pragmatic. If I had never blocked anyone on Twitter, my account would be unusable or I'd have to go private.

This doesn't stop me defending the right of every1 to speak to those who want to hear them or be hear those they want to hear.
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

This is the essence of free speech as far as I am concerned. The right to express ideas and hear ideas. Not in every place or to every person
-
In public, yes. We are in public now.
-
I'm as public or as private as I choose to be on Twitter. Please can you just deal with it.
-
What does "please can you deal with it?" mean? I need to agree with you?
-
No, you can continue to think I have no right to choose who I talk to &who hears me on social media. I ask you to deal with it. U can refuse

That's fine. I'm not disagreeing that blocking saves you time. That's not the pt of contention, and never was.
-
The Mute button, combined w/ Mute Convo (for the times when your followers argue w/ the blockee) solves this problem for you.
-
I've explained why it doesn't. I'm just going to have to ask you to deal with it now.
-
You explained that other ppl will continue to argue w/ the blockee. Mute Convo after that branch point solves that problem. Doesn't it?
-
No, because then my convos are closed to me every time one of my weirdos decides to derail it. I'm not having that. I'm here to talk.
-
No. Don't "Mute Convo" from your original tweet. That *would* kill the experience. Mute Convo from the point where blockee jumps in.
-
OK, Im going to try that now on this tweet. See if it works.
-
Testing.
