I have labradors at the moment but have fostered staffs and collies too. They just need to know what you want. Adopted dogs are grateful!

Yes! But the thing to bear in mind abt adopting intelligent dogs is that they take longer to get over trauma & fear of abandonment.

They can have long-term mental illness. We couldn't save the Collie and it was kinder to let him go. Less intelligent dogs bounce back.

But you needn't get one who has had trauma. Very many haven't. Have just been given up coz owners moved or died so very sad & need cuddles.
