Bollocks. Trad gender roles are OK for those who want them. Not needed for men & women to not regard each other with fear & suspicion https://twitter.com/x60mmx/status/926816447816351745 …

There are only two genders, male and female. Your double negative 'not needed ... not regard' was a tad confusing. Who reagrds who with fear and suspicion? Not my experience.

the current #MeToo hysteria has resulted in many men saying they fear approaching women in case they are accused of sexual harassment etc

Tristin suggested that a tradlife approach would stop this mutual fear & distrust. I don't think it's necessary. We can just calm down.

They're not demonised. Certain groups demonise working mothers and some demonise stay at home mothers. Society accepts both exist.

Western societies are deeply feminist and have more or less internalised the narrative that stay-at-home mothers are oppressing themselves..

No, they haven't. The anti-feminists say this just like the feminists say western societies perpetuate a norm that women should do this.

In reality, some women stay home, more work, only the ideologically motivated fringes care enough to make a thing of it.

Also societies where traditional gender rolls are more strongly enforced have far higher rates of violence against women.

Not for regressives. The ones I've run into and heard about adamantly frown on women who want to stay at home and raise children.

Possibly. Trad type roles help the sexes understand that they r fundamentally different abt wants/work, even in their communication styles.

Real solution, imo: make as many friends of the opposite sex as you can. This is what should be encouraged, at least from high school.
