It says that but it's not that women choose lower stress jobs. Just a different kind of stress. Children & sick people are stressful.

Women have a responsibility to go against tradition and get more STEM training.

No, we don't. And women not underrepresented in all areas of STEM. Doesn't matter if we're not drawn to same things as men in same numbers

There are so many global challenges facing us and women can contribute a lot to STEM yet only comprise 24% of roles.

Well, until there aren't enough men who *want* to do it, I see no need for women to stop doing what interests them. For me, it's history.

I don't think women can contribute anything that men can't by virtue of genitalia or gender identity.

That's unfortunate you feel that way about women. I think women can add a new dimension to things.

With proper training, women bring a fresh perspective. Some also believe in biological or social differences that benefit business.

So if i take a job in Hyperbaric welding and you choose daycare teacher or nurse, you believe that deserves the same pay rate?

Because I said that working with children & sick people is quite demanding & stressful? No, this is a simple observation.

I think it likely that more women are able to handle the stress of children & sick people & still find the work rewarding than men.

I don't know how to compare those in terms of qualification & demandingness & do not have an opinion on what jobs should pay what.

If women choose different jobs that earn them less money what does stress have to do with anything

        1. Stressful meaning dangerous is the idea presented. Yes children are stressful but working at a port walking on trees which could injure

Yes. Dangerous is different to stressful tho being in danger can certainly cause stress! Men do more of the dangerous jobs.

That's what I was getting at, generally society has decided higher pay goes to danger over a stress like children hence the pay gap

No, I don't think so. Most men do not do dangerous jobs & the best paid jobs are not dangerous. CEOS earn more than firemen.

Maybe 'danger money' contributes slightly to the overall better pay of jobs men are more drawn to but I think it's the other way round.

Women are drawn more to jobs working with people that they find satisfying & they're less likely to worry about the lower pay.
