I am also difficult to intimidate verbally. Not everyone is & bullying those who are not is never acceptable. But I worry abt gendering thishttps://twitter.com/Ella_M_Whelan/status/925690565911597057 …

Of people who tell me they've been upset by online harassment or conflict, for example, there's not a notable gender difference.

There probably is one but I'd remind everyone that women are more verbally skilled on average & not defined by timidity.

We must be able to oppose bullying & harassment w/out undoing all the progress made on regarding women as capable & resilient.

But what if we are, on average? More neurotic, easier to intimidate, less willing to stand up for ourselves. I'm beginning to consider it.

I consider it lots too, but as a product of our raising, not our biology. And Helen's outright rejection of the premise is exactly the fix.

I was scolded whenever I didn't act more lady like" And bullying in school by boys my age and older didn't change me either, on the contrary

Wait... being scolded when not acting lady-like, is exactly what I'm talking about. That's lessons in limitation!

But my point is it *didn't* stop me from fighting with boys. Or being more assertive. It meant nothing to me. I was just doing my thing.
-
And that's great -- for you. But when talking women in general, most are more the things you noted earlier, esp when push comes to shove.
-
Wasn't that the basis of your wondering about it in the first place? So... why? Nature or nurture? I firmly believe it's the latter. No...
-
I don't. Testosterone plays a huge role in this.
