The possessions, IMO, depends on the concept of ownership. Are kids' toys "theirs"? If so, no, I don't support that, either.
Then what do you mean about being consistent? Not in relation to consistency between the way we treat adults & children?

Go back to the toy example (not the maths one). I think it's consistent to believe taking others' possessions is not something we should do.

So, yes, I would try to treat adults & children consistently w/ respect to their possessions. I just don't think the math example works here

And, I wouldn't argue "b/c we don't do that to *adults*". I would say "b/c we don't do that to other people". Small diff in wording.
