I once read an evo psych study which said men are more wary of men. More likely to read threat in other men's body language. Not misandryhttps://twitter.com/IonaItalia/status/925014236052340737 …

Men were more likely to over-infer sexual interest in women & hostility in men whilst women were more likely to evaluate both accurately.

And both those false positives make sense in an evolutionary context for men.

I get why men are always on the lookout 4 challengers to their A status, but what explains women able to judge male aggression accurately?

Women have to tie themselves to one for several years for their offspring to survive? Being afraid of good ones wouldn't help that?

also, may not see stereotypical dominance signals as a threat directly to them, these are signals for other males.

But then the men would be right to see them so both would be accurate.

Not the conclusion what you read made, but I'm interested now if they controlled for male dominance factors

They just showed men and women videos of men who were about to do something aggressive & of men who weren't & asked them to judge. I think.

So it is plausible the men could be seeing things that relate only to male interaction or some men just see any unrecognised male as threat?
