I once read an evo psych study which said men are more wary of men. More likely to read threat in other men's body language. Not misandryhttps://twitter.com/IonaItalia/status/925014236052340737 …

And both those false positives make sense in an evolutionary context for men.

I wonder what role, if any, sexual orientation plays.
-
I don't think we should expect it to play very much if it is the genes which cause this rather than the organism.
-
Like the strong hypothesis that men more likely to want casual sex coz increased chances of passing genes on still holds true in gay men.
-
And is, in fact, more easily accessed because not having to work round women. Gay men wld probably overinfer sexual interest from men.
-
I'd agree, with one reservation: in contexts where unwelcome homosexual advances can lead to personal injury, there would be a damper.

A study showed males and females could accurately gauge the upper body strength of males - from just seeing the face.
-
Males assessing for combat (probably). Females for ????
-
Might just be consistent pattern recognition.

A link to the study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2664345/ … I think it's probably innate and helped avoid conflict. Don't pick a fight with someone stronger

.. your male friends say? I am always looking at all pedestrians, evaluating threat.
