Maybe, yes. For me, it is a functional life-support service. I live mostly in my own head & it's that I can't bear to be untidy.https://twitter.com/hws5mp/status/923528161886949376 …

I think for a lot of (average) women, the 'perfect home' is an actual life goal, whereas for men it's just a functional life-support service

Someone once sent me a thing which suggests this explains my dislike of puns. No! That's not how language works! That breaks the rules!

And yet I find naturally orderly things like maths utterly uninspiring.I recently discovered I am better at this than I thought but still no

But when it comes to social issues, I'd like humans to think in a more orderly way & I keep trying to tidy them up. It doesn't really work.

And it leaves me open to legitimate criticism that I lack appreciation for the messiness of human experience - feelings, creativity, awe.

It is important not to impose false order on things simply because it's easier to live with things that are tidy. Be simplistic & reductive

But I think when something can't yet be understood through evidence & reason, it is better to say 'I don't know' than wallow in the mess.

This is my main problem with postmodernism. It likes contradiction - aporia - & rather than try to resolve it, will wallow in the confusion.

It's much like theological concepts like the Trinity in this way. Apparently, the beauty of this is that it can't be grasped & thats awesome

I don't find it awesome. I'd rather try to resolve it or set it aside as something that does not work & has little use as a concept.

Did you notice how I managed to make a cartoon about housework all about postmodernism & religion? Not that I'm single-minded or anything.

Same. When I NEED to be tidy (say at work) I am, but at home, living alone... well let's just say there's a reason I don't have a webcam...😳
