Yes. But is she typical of New Atheist values generally? I think New Atheists tend to regard differences between Cath & Prot as superficial.

They still think a god exists, deny evolution to an even greater degree, hold back gender equality & LGBT rights etc.

Sure, but I think some truth to the claim New Atheists have naive view of history which goes - Catholicism -> Reformation -> Enlightenment.

Well, it is. I'm sorry, but it is. The last 500 years have been great for science & reason & liberalism. This is not naive. It's true.

I agree, but I think people (like me!) can sometimes be a bit historically naive about the bloodiness during that same period.

I think so too but I don't think New Atheists are particularly prone to denying the violence of religious wars. That's usually relig people.
