But honestly, the fact that we can see light changes with eyes closed does not mean we create all our perceptions with our minds.

It just means our eyelids aren't completely opaque. It might have been metaphor tho. Sometimes I'm bad with metaphor.

I genuinely find it hard to believe there are ppl who *don't* spend most of their lives thinking abt politics, ethics, culture etc.
