Particularly this: 'When you see another guy talk over a woman, say: “Hey, she was saying something.” Patronise me this way at your peril.

I will never learn to read a room & I don't care. Also, I don't find that men are more touchy-feely in reality. The opposite is true.

Yes, we should show each other basic respect and say thank you for minor services. I feel sure women evaluate others by their dress more.

"Be aware of your inherent power in situations & use it to protect women, especially via talking to other men." In what situations?

I am yet to find a situation in which men have inherent power over women unless we are talking about a physical conflict.

Yeah, that's stupid. All arguments entail each participant talking over each other to some degree. Otherwise you can waste a lot of time.

Also, easier to clear up a misunderstanding immediately after it's stated than 2 minutes later after they've finished their whole monolog.

Don’t people just talk over each other (interrupt each other) all the time, from excitement, agreement... lots of reasons?

I keep coming back round to thinking these things don't have a solution because people want different things and different interactions.

There are things that are *obviously* a problem, but for everything else your actions or inactions will be an issue for *some* people.

Didn't this happen at a science conf recently with "Let. her. speak"? Except interrupter was a woman, and scientist was a tad more polite.
