I feel some responsibility for convos I start & will block people who are consistently abusive to my tweeps trying to have civil discussions

If they never add anything but just bring snark &insults & bigoted generalisations & aim them at ppl I know to be well-intentioned & sincere

I am not sure I am being consistent here because I'd personally prefer to deal with it myself rather than have others block on my behalf.

Last one had a problem with men & trans women. I know neither need protecting by me but I don't need to give her direct access to my tweeps.

I've done same before with misogynists who wanted to be nasty to my female tweeps. Not everyone enjoys dealing with vitriolic ideologues.

I do, obviously, but I don't want ppl afraid to join my conversations coz verbally abusive arseholes lurk there. Is this reasonable?

I get a sense of many of my tweeps & know them as honest & kind people so I get ragey when ideologues spew vitriol at them.
