I fear my daughter becoming the victim of a sexual assault because arseholes exist. I also know my father, cousin, nephew not to be one.

10-25% is bigotry???!! when by the popularity of this hashtag alone - you get the 'impression' that a significant portion women experience assault of some form or another? What, it's 2% that's assaulting all these women?
-
Yes, it is. Most rapists are repeat offenders, not entirely new people, and the rates of rape are incredibly low by any reasonable account.
-
Meanwhile sexual assault numbers are routinely inflated by 'studies' that assume assault occurs even when the victim disagrees.
-
Then there's self-selection bias, which is what the hashtag is; you're seeing a small number vocal about their abuse vs the silent millions.
-
So you agree there is widespread abuse then
#confused -
No. I think there is a small but significant proportion of abuse, and that ultimately painting men as abusers is simply bigotry.
-
First of all - bigotry means 'unwilling to listen to another perspective' . So kindly stop using that without it being warranted cause I'm actually responding. Secondly - even as a number, instead of a percentage, the number of ppl experiencing is bad enough.
-
Happily concede bigotry. Any number above zero is 'bad enough.' Doesn't excuse painting half the human race as prone to sexual predation.

Guessimg at what percentage of men have raped/will rape is not bigotry. Can be wrong and not bigoted.
