Get it out there and also control the narrative. That removes stigma. (Poor you. That must be the worst kind of mental illness.)

Exactly. Means I'm funny rather than scary! And thank you. I'm lucky. It was a one time thing it seems and tbh, partly self inflicted.

I find that's the best approach in my own case. Just mention it first and let them laugh. Someone might as well get a giggle from it.
