If everything is evidence of rape culture, it becomes very difficult for women finding selves in danger to be heard.

'I'm being sexually harassed' can now mean anything from being cornered & having a hand forced up your skirt to being asked out for coffee.

My friend recently ashamed to have been sceptical of a stranger who approached her & asked for help coz a man was harassing her but he was.

And she came from a rape culture where she was sexually assaulted several times. But her first thought was 'Is this just a drama.'

Ppl can be wrongly accused of over-reacting. Same friend accused of it for objecting to a man who'd raped her as a child joining her work.

By her *mother* among others. But employer took it seriously tho case had not had enough evidence to proceed & confronted him. He went away

You've never had a conversation like this before, I take it. I have. It's not explaining things, a joke, whatever. It's sexist.
-
My point is that many conversations start 'This man is bad' & the justification for this can be reasonable or not & this harms victims.

People should understand that being considered guilty until proven guilty does not incentivize innocent behaviour.

Considering the ever growing list of male feminists found guilty of the very thing they rail against, it seems to me they have a vested...
-
.. interest in devaluing terms like 'sexual assault', as well as spreading the blame onto "men" rather than individual rapists and abusers.
-
I think it a mistake to divide feminist supporters into male and female. There are champagne feminists, and puritans. Both are malevolent.
-
I am in no way trying to excuse or ignore the various problems with all the other feminists by pointing out that there is a pattern of..
-
.. decidedly un-feminist sexual behaviour among self-proclaimed feminist allies.
-
Sexual behaviour only becomes "un-feminist" when it is revealed to the public. The same applies with all cults.
-
So long as they say the right thing in public it doesn't really matter what they do in private.
