Rubbish. Having a varied sex-life before settling down & having kids is the most common approach in the UK.

Surveys show women reporting 2-6 lifetime partners as a rough median. It actually hasn't changed much in decades

They seem to vary widely. I am not sure which to believe.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3685314/Young-women-have-more-sexual-partners-than-men.html …

Fewer women want kids and they don't want so many but it's still much more common to have them.
-
I challenge that claim's weight. Most women want children, and many regret not having had a baby. (Somewhat taboo topic.)
-
But this is the involuntarily childless. Also, no comparison of how many women who dedicated lives to kids regret not doing something else
-
I hear more of that because nearly all my friends have kids and they're now getting independent & there's a lot of 'What could I have been?'
