Hmm. Someone is saying that my essays are too academic & difficult to understand. I did not think they were. I define theoretical terms. 1/3

Who are the "don't read them" people? Reveal yourselves so I can beat you up!
-
But. I mean. The twitter feed is blinding enough. They might not actually survive a long-form Helen!
-
You are dealing with famously wilfully impenetrable theoretical terminology, that said I think you plainly convey their meaning.
-
Otoh I have dabbled in getting to grips with such terminology as a twisted form of fun.
-
That's sick.

Seems to me that bringing something as rooted in academic discourse and jargon as PoMo to a wider audience is inherently a balancing act...
-
.. between accessibility and accuracy. You can't be both 100%.
-
I do need to use the language but I try to define anything I think might not be known to everyone. I sometimes think I overdo it.
-
I suppose you could use analogies and then keep referring to those to trick the reader into thinking you're not using jargon, but then...
-
.. again I don't think you're trying to explain PoMo to toddlers here, so at a certain point you have to draw a line. So far what articles..
-
.. I've read were pretty clear to me. I do have a semi academic BG though and am not daunted by thesaurian vocabularies.
