I'm not sure how to explain the difference between 'No, you're factually wrong' and 'shut up' if you don't already see it.
But shorthand speech isn't exactly factually wrong. If there is an enormous increase in a factor in a given group, it's true even if crude.
It is true that women hate science. If someone says this, I will also point out that it's true that women don't coz we're individuals.
So if we don't have peer-reviewed stats on hand we are to shut up lest we rope in innocents? Of course there are innocents! Who denies that?
I don't know where you are getting this from but, on the whole, yes, wait until you have the facts before making claims about whole groups.
That's an elitist position stating that only scientists/numerically literate are able to speak on political matters. Exclusionary. Unfair.
Everyone should have equal say. But they should be called out when they make bullshit generalizations with no facts to back them up.
