Well, I don't know about Russia but it's certainly more acceptable for men to show emotion in the US than it is in the UK.

It’s not just about showing emotion. vulnerability is also abt not being afraid of not looking “manly” in front of others, etc

Men are socialized *very* strongly against seeming even remotely “feminine”, a word which here means, “Not aggressively masculine”.
