Then it's not yours to deny it. In fact, it's everybody's place to make their own judgement on what they wear & you have to deal with it
-
-
That is also not a coincidence. You're right, tho, a majority believing a certain thing doesn't mean what they believe is right.
-
No. You choose to support those who share your intersectional views & I those who share my liberal ones. But it's my values that work here.
-
The ideology around cultural appropriation claims to uphold the values of minority cultures but then ignores those members who wrongthink.
-
Liberalism has values of freedom, fairness, shared humanity & individuality consistent with supporting those ideas in every cultural group.
-
Respecting each other's shared humanity/individuality means actually acknowledging that we're all different and have different perspectives.
-
Yes & evaluating them on their merits according to consistent ethical principles rather than what their own culture says about it.
-
An argument can be both "ethical" and "emotional" at the same time. But that gets to a whole different point.
-
Arguments are about reasoning. People are going to have emotions on all sides. They can be taken into account in ethical arguments.

I also don't consider using for personal enjoyment things that weren't made by/for you w/out acknowledging spirit/history of that thing....
-
The spirit and history will change with import, yes. This is how cultural atifacts are shared & diversify. It's a similar pattern to language
-
And no, we don't ignore those who "toe the line", but that's kinda the point---this is not your issue. This impacts us.
-
But it is others you are telling how to dress or not dress. That does impact them. Obv, no-one objects to you deciding for yourself.
-
If one understands that, there wouldn't even be a debate in the first place. They'd get it. They'd understand.
-
I don't understand the way forward is to give way to the culturally relativist identitarians over the universal liberals in minority groups
-
I absolutely see what a sincere & ethical person you are & appreciate that you are taking time to explain to me rather than yell at me.
-
But I do think you're misguided & I think so after much reading, listening, studying and writing on the subject.

....I don't consider that sharing. That's really not what's being discussed right now. Also notice how black % are much closer to 50/50.
-
But still under. Even if it were the case that 100% of people didn't like others touching their stuff, we still needn't agree with them.

And to be honest, I don't consider essentially taking ownership of things that aren't originally yours to be sharing, as it is.

Sorry for the late response...what I've been discussion really isn't about "sharing". Been a broken record but it's about respect.
