If the school or some other org tried to have it set in stone & make a big thing of it, I'd oppose this. If someone bullied them, I wld too.

What do you mean set in stone? Not accept their gender identity?

I meant the other way, actually. 'Your child says they are a girl. We must honour this & put all sorts of policies in place & change records'

The facts of the matter are that many kids feel this way but for most of them it resolves. This is what we should tell them.

My understanding is Hormone replacement should wait until a kid is 16 (since its irreversible) but what about puberty blockers. Given that..

the effect is completely reversible, does their age really matter? Would it by OK if a 12 y.o. took them since its reversible?

I don't think so but would have to read more about effects of this on the body & psychology. If completely reversible, could be a case.

Puberty blockers is definitely worth looking into because I think given that its reversible, it does complicate things somewhat

It could be a solution to the problem of transitioning being more successful before puberty but child's brain being too immature to decide.

If it genuinely did no harm, it could put the problem on hold until the individual is more capable of making an informed decision.
