Is there some lower age limit that a parent should allow their kid to socially transition though? Like surely a 3 yo would be too young?

I'd be more about not forbidding them from saying they are the opposite gender than advocating everyone else treat them as such.

If the school or some other org tried to have it set in stone & make a big thing of it, I'd oppose this. If someone bullied them, I wld too.

The facts of the matter are that many kids feel this way but for most of them it resolves. This is what we should tell them.

My understanding is Hormone replacement should wait until a kid is 16 (since its irreversible) but what about puberty blockers. Given that..

Not for children, no. No medication that could have lasting consequences. When 18, they can decide for themselves.

The exception will be if science develops to the point where transgenderism can be detected reliably with brainscans or genetic testing.

Isn't 16 old enough to give informed consent though. I thought gender identity set in after puberty?

If gender-specific athletic ability can be accurately measured, yes, trans athletes who fall in range of cis athletes can compete with them
