But I'm not sure what there is to do about that apart from make strong, unwarranted assertions we don't believe to even it up a bit.
I assume an atheist has replaced God with self and science. Incidentiallly most Christians respect self and believe in science too.
That will vary hugely. I am an individualist but not very interested in science. I'm more into history & culture & ideology espec. religion.
Ethically, I am a humanist & a liberal. That is what I *believe* in. And *replaced* God isn't quite right coz that belief isn't the default.
Of course, we do have beliefs & histories we defend but they're to do with positive rather than negative things.

That's right, yes. We don't mean we don't believe in anything. I think sometimes ppl wld rather we made more assertions abt existence of God
