I don't think the decision not to have children should be evaluated in terms of 'selfishness'.

But the judgement on whether its ok or not shouldn't be on whether its a choice. Same as whether homosexuality is OK or not.

I get your point. It's something that affects your whole life, so always should be a choice. Cultural 'norms' can manipulate that choice.

Not on a societal level in the sense of the society we have now & the ethics of being able to make this choice for one's own life.

If you have kids & then don't take responsibility for them in various ways or raise them to be a danger or burden on society.
