American 'cultural appropriation' police are essentially imposing western values on the Japanese and speaking over them. https://twitter.com/lanaschola/status/911262361943764994 …

But the case 4 defending cultural appropriation doesn't depend on whether the majority of racial minorities support it, that'd b ID politics
-
I've seen a few too many people (not u) suggest that wearing a Kimono is fine (it is) because Japanese people say its fine. Flawed reasoning
-
It's more that *their* rationale fails on its own terms. It becomes imposing their norms on another culture & speaking over them.
-
Besides, if the owners of the culture aren't the arbiters of whether it can be "appropriated," who are?
-
Well, no one. No-one owns cultural stuff.

I just like that they called it "adoption" so they could use the word "appropriate" to mean "acceptable". It's appropriate to appropriate.

Probably a decent measure for what percent of people are infected by postmodernism. Is there any other reason to think its inappropriate?
