Do we rarely talk about motherhood? I'm not sure. I tend to talk about it quite a lot but I'm a mother & so are nearly all my friends.

But then this is parenting really. As a mother. Don't tend to talk about it much in a 'big theme' way. Too mundane & normal.

What would I say? Powerful experience. Lots of strong emotions of love & fear. Life is never fully your own again & that's a mixed blessing

But I'm fairly sure that's the same for fathers. I'm never quite sure what ppl mean when they say we should talk about motherhood.

Its often a romanticised ideal, I think. Not being a mother but defining yourself by motherhood & I think few women actually do that.

Even tho their role as mother is likely to be the most important & the one everything else would be sacrificed for. Hmm. I don't know.
