My primary goal is always Enlightenment liberalism w/ its emphasis on freedom, equal opportunities, individuality, science, reason &evidence
It varies hugely from group to group & this is what we're trying to navigate our way through right now. Am writing about this now.

I will argue that science seems to be coming down on the side of trans gender identity being biologically based but still inconclusive.
-
Nevertheless on an ethical level, we should go with simple liberal approaches which also take into account the practicalities & realities.
-
Treat trans people with dignity & respect. Oppose authoritarians trying to force others to accept their views, ignore pretentious ideologues
-
Accept that in most areas of life, trans people can just be treated as individuals as they go about doing things which are not gendered.
-
In some areas, they're in a class of their own & ways need to be worked out to give them access to things w/out disadvantaging everyone else
-
eg sports, prisons, changing rooms.

I look forward to reading your piece. It is true that every decision involves real human beings and of course humanity should always prevail

But it becomes very difficult to even have the discussion if the biological distinctions are being erased from the lexicon.
