Jonathan Gottschall has a good book on it called 'The Beauty Myth' & there is a lot of general research.

By being aware of this, we can mitigate it better. Therefore, it is worthwhile discussing it.

I would suggest that not everything has to be equivocated. We can admit that men & women often experience different societal pressures.
